The Cleveland Guardians have confirmed 32 members of their 40-man roster will be in attendance at the 2024 Guards Fest this upcoming Saturday.

Many current Guardians players, such as José Ramírez, Josh Naylor, Steven Kwan, and Tanner Bibee, will be at the event.

In addition to these many current players, the team announced on Wednesday that three Cleveland alumni will also be on hand for the annual gathering.

Here is a breakdown of the three recently confirmed alumni who will be at this year’s Guards Fest.

Rajai Davis

The former Cleveland outfielder played with the franchise for two seasons.

In 2016, Davis hit .249 with 113 hits, 23 doubles, a career-best 12 home runs, 48 RBI, and an American League-leading 43 stolen bases. But his most memorable moment with Cleveland came in the 2016 postseason.

What turned out to be Davis’ only career postseason home run ended up becoming one of the most impactful in franchise history. In Game Seven of the 2016 World Series, with Cleveland down 6-4 with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning, he lined a 2-2 pitch over the left field wall at Progressive Field to tie the game.

In 2018, Davis hit .224 with 44 hits, six doubles, one home run, six RBI, and 21 stolen bases.

Dan Otero

The former relief pitcher played his final four MLB seasons with Cleveland.

In this span, the right-hander went 10-2 with a 3.33 ERA, 154 strikeouts, two saves, seven holds, and a 1.16 WHIP in 200 appearances.

Otero was also a key member of Cleveland’s bullpen during the 2016 postseason, making six relief appearances and compiling a 2.70 ERA, two strikeouts, and a 0.90 WHIP.

Chris Gimenez

The former primary catcher played three-plus seasons with Cleveland.

Gimenez was a 19th-round pick by Cleveland in the 2004 MLB Draft out of the University of Nevada, Reno. In 2008, he led the team’s Minor League players in both on-base percentage (.421) and walk percentage (16%).

In a combined 148 games with Cleveland across the 2009, 2010, 2014, and 2016 seasons, Gimenez hit .180 with 57 hits, 11 doubles, eight home runs, and 26 RBI.

He is also currently a Guardians analyst on Bally Sports Great Lakes.
